Carla Pereira is a highly accomplished director and screenwriter specializing in stop motion animation. With an impressive body of work, she has left her mark on various children's TV series such as Clay Kids, Konijn & Konijntje, Twirlywoos, Clangers, and El Diario de Bita y Cora. Carla's expertise extends beyond television, encompassing short films like El Cripto zoólogo, Ouróboros, and El mar, as well as feature films including Hakkebakkeskogen, Inzomnia, Os Demonios do meu avô, and the Oscar-nominated Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson. Her remarkable talent in animation, character design, modeling, direction, and co-direction has also been utilized in numerous advertising spots, promotional videos, and creative projects.
Collaborating with Juanfran Jacinto, Carla directed the short films Metamorphosis, produced by the renowned Oscar-winning production company Autour de Minuit and selected for the Clermont Ferrand Festival, and To do está perdido, which earned a spot at the Annecy Festival and is currently making waves on the festival circuit. Additionally, Carla independently directed the Goya Awards-nominated short film Proceso de Selección.
Carla's exceptional work has gained recognition at more than 80 festivals worldwide, including Animafest Zagreb, the Malaga Film Festival (where she received two awards), the Berlanga Awards (where she won the Best Short Film award), and the Montreal Stop Motion Festival (where she won the Best Short Film award).
